The festival of the Virgin of Fátima, celebrated every May 13, commemorates one of the most impressive spiritual events of the 20th century: the apparitions of the "Lady dressed in white" in Portugal.
Who was Our Lady of Fatima?
In 1917, amidst the backdrop of World War II, the Virgin Mary appeared six times to three shepherd children—Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta—in Cova da Iria, Fatima.
Her main message was an invitation to conversion, to penance, and above all, an insistent plea: "Pray the Rosary every day to achieve world peace." During her last apparition, on October 13, the "Miracle of the Sun" occurred, witnessed by thousands of people, confirming the divinity of her message.
